Project Somprodan- turning what we have in excess into what someone else needs to learn.

Project Somprodan is an initiative of Development and Unity Alliance (DUA) that aims to bridge the gap between surplus educational resources and students who need them most. We believe that no child’s education should be limited by a lack of basic learning materials. Through Somprodan, we place dedicated Somprodan Boxes in schools, colleges, universities, and other community spaces, encouraging students, educators, families, and communities to donate new or gently used notebooks, stationery, books, school bags, and other essential learning materials. Our team and volunteers collect, sort, inspect, and prepare these resources before working with local communities and partner organizations to identify students and schools facing barriers to accessing educational supplies. The collected materials are then distributed directly to students in rural, marginalized, and financially disadvantaged communities, helping them continue their education with greater confidence and dignity. Beyond collecting and distributing supplies, Project Somprodan promotes educational guidance, social responsibility, and a culture of sharing. Through interactive awareness sessions and educational guidance activities, we encourage young people to become active contributors to positive social change. By giving unused and gently used educational materials a meaningful second life, Somprodan not only improves access to essential learning resources but also reduces unnecessary waste and promotes a more sustainable and inclusive approach to education. Every notebook donated, every pencil collected, every book shared, and every school bag given can become a meaningful opportunity in a student's educational journey. How It Works: Somprodan follows a simple and transparent process: Collect, Sort & Prepare, Identify Beneficiaries, Distribute, and Follow Up. We install Somprodan Boxes at partner institutions, collect and organize donated materials regularly, identify beneficiary students and communities in collaboration with trusted local partners, distribute the supplies, and monitor the impact while sharing meaningful stories with donors, volunteers, and supporters. Why Somprodan? Because education should never be determined by whether a student can afford a notebook, pencil, book, or school bag. By connecting what some people have in excess with what others need to learn, Project Somprodan seeks to reduce educational inequality, support underserved students, encourage responsible consumption, reduce waste, and create a stronger culture of generosity and community participation.
